The JW Marriott brand upholds this legacy by focusing on creating a work environment where associates feel valued, supported, and empowered to deliver outstanding guest experiences. JW Marriott values a culture of confidence, innovation, and genuine hospitality, all while fostering personal growth and professional development among their team members. This holistic approach ensures that associates not only excel in their career but also find personal fulfillment and balance within the luxury hospitality environment.
The role at JW Marriott Chicago is for a full-time, non-management Food and Beverage position located at their iconic property on 151 W Adams St in Chicago, Illinois. The position pays $20.78 per hour with tip eligibility and prefers candidates with experience and a flexible shift availability. In this role, the associate will prepare drink orders according to specific recipes, ensuring precision and quality in each beverage served. Responsibilities include opening and serving wines and champagnes, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area, preparing fresh garnishes, stocking supplies such as ice, glassware, and paper products, and managing the transportation of supplies to and from bar set-ups.
Additional duties involve washing and clearing soiled glassware, anticipating and communicating supply needs throughout the shift, completing payment processing with accuracy, conducting cash bank counts and reports at shift end, and securing all liquor and bar items. The associate must also perform closing duties and adhere strictly to Marriott's safety and security policies, ensuring the safety of themselves, their coworkers, and guests while maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality of company information.
The position requires excellent interpersonal skills to welcome and communicate with guests professionally, anticipate service needs, and provide sincere appreciation to guests. The associate will develop positive working relationships within their team, support collective goals, and responsibly handle work-related challenges. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and the ability to perform moderate lifting and movement in potentially confined and varied environments.
JW Marriott Chicago prioritizes equal opportunity employment, valuing diverse backgrounds and experiences, and commits to non-discriminatory practices regarding disability, veteran status, and more. The position offers significant benefits including healthcare, retirement plans, earned paid time off including sick leave where applicable, life insurance, disability coverage, and other wellness programs. Training, development, and recognition opportunities abound in this dynamic role within an internationally recognized company. JW Marriott believes that happy employees lead to happy guests and creates an environment where every associate can thrive and contribute to the storied tradition of Wonderful Hospitality. Always.
