Job Description
Peregrine is a distinguished restaurant located in Boston's iconic Beacon Hill, celebrated for its Mediterranean roots and a culinary journey inspired by the Italian islands of Sardinia and Sicily, along with the neighboring influences of Corsica and Catalonia. This unique dining establishment prides itself on offering guests a rich cultural and gastronomic experience that reflects the diverse flavors and traditions from these regions. The name 'Peregrine' is drawn from the Peregrine falcon native to these areas and also signifies a traveler, embodying the spirit of hospitality extended to every patron who steps through its doors. The ambiance and menu are thoughtfully curated to capture the essence of these Mediterranean inspirations, making it a beloved spot for both locals and visitors craving an authentic taste of Southern Europe.
The opportunity available at Peregrine is for the position of Bartender, a vital role responsible for providing exceptional beverage service in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. As a Bartender, you will be the face of hospitality at the bar, preparing and serving drinks and food orders, while maintaining a clean and organized bar environment. The role demands not only technical skills in mixology and drink preparation but also a keen attention to customer service and guest satisfaction. You will be expected to uphold standards that ensure responsible alcohol service, such as verifying customer identification and managing intoxicated guests appropriately.
This position offers a clear career progression path within the hospitality industry, starting from Bartender to potentially advancing into leadership roles such as Beverage Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, Restaurant Manager, and ultimately Food & Beverage Manager. Working at Peregrine means joining a team that values excellence, agility, and pride in service, where employee growth is encouraged and supported.
In your daily duties, you will perform a variety of tasks including slicing and preparing fruit garnishes, handling payment transactions, completing beverage requisitions to keep stock levels adequate, and participating in inventory management. You will also contribute to sustainability efforts by adhering to the establishment's EarthView program and maintain safety standards by following OSHA guidelines and wearing protective equipment when necessary. The role requires standing for extended periods and active physical engagement such as lifting and reaching, so physical stamina and a positive attitude are essential.
Peregrine supports its employees with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits for both full-time and part-time staff. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a retirement 401k company match, daily pay options, life insurance, and 24/7 access to work-life resources. Additional perks like travel discounts, commuter benefits, employee wellness programs, educational and professional development opportunities, and referral bonuses further enhance the working experience.
The company culture at Peregrine is rooted in principles that emphasize people as the foremost capability, service with heart, a commitment to excellence, adaptability, and accountability. Employees are encouraged to embody these values, contributing to a dynamic and supportive workplace environment.
This Bartender role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, enjoy engaging with guests, and wish to develop their skills within a respected restaurant setting. With its blend of Mediterranean culinary artistry and commitment to stellar guest experiences, Peregrine provides an enriching and rewarding career opportunity in the vibrant Boston restaurant scene.
