As a Bartender at Canvas Restaurant and Market, you play a critical role in delivering memorable hospitality experiences that foster genuine and personable connections with guests. Your responsibilities extend beyond preparing drinks to include engaging service from the initial greeting through to a guest's departure. You will be expected to understand and anticipate guest needs, recommending beverages that complement their dining experience without appearing sales-driven. Timely preparation of drinks to the restaurant's precise standards is essential, alongside maintaining a professional appearance and adhering strictly to all alcohol awareness policies. The role also encompasses efficient communication with both guests and team members, resolving complaints professionally, processing payments accurately, and contributing to a clean and welcoming bar environment. The bartender will be integral to the success of the restaurant, promoting teamwork and upholding the highest standards of service and cleanliness. Job Requirements

  • High school education
  • able to communicate in English (speak, read, write)
  • previous hospitality experience preferred
  • experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system
  • meet the local legal minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
  • coordination skills to pour and carry multiple drinks and plates simultaneously

Job Duties

  • Maintain proper grooming and uniform standards
  • deliver genuine hospitality to and establish emotional connections with guests
  • contribute to the overall teamwork and success of the restaurant
  • communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • determine guests needs while making appropriate recommendations and offerings to enhance the dining experience
  • prepare drink orders for guests and servers according to recipes in a timely manner
  • execute beverage tray service
  • answer guest questions regarding food and beverage offerings
  • adhere to all alcohol awareness procedures
  • handle guest complaints professionally and alert a manager immediately
  • process payments and handle cash professionally and accurately
  • communicate with managers and hosts regarding table availability and key table updates
  • follow up with guests about their meal and dining experience to ensure great guest satisfaction
  • maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation
  • demonstrate professional and gracious demeanor at all times
  • perform all opening, running, and closing duties accurately
  • perform any job function requested by the management team
