The Bartender role at Chroma Modern Bar + Kitchen is crucial in delivering exceptional hospitality, ensuring every guest feels genuinely welcomed and appreciated from their initial greeting through to their departure. This position requires the ability to provide engaging and personalized service, understanding guest preferences and tailoring recommendations to enhance each individual’s dining experience. The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving drinks to the highest standard, working efficiently to meet customer expectations during busy service periods without compromising quality or attention to detail.
In addition to crafting beverages, this role involves maintaining a clean and organized bar area, adhering strictly to alcohol service laws and responsible beverage practices. Bartenders are expected to communicate effectively with both guests and team members, handle guest concerns respectfully and promptly, and assist in the smooth operation of the restaurant by collaborating closely with management, servers, and hosts. The position encompasses a variety of duties such as executing beverage tray service, processing payments accurately, and performing opening and closing procedures. Job Requirements
- High school education
- Able to communicate (speak, read, and write) in English
- Previous hospitality experience is preferred
- Experience using a point of sale (POS) system
- Must meet the local, legal minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
- Coordination skills that allow proper pouring and carrying of several drinks and plates at the same time

Job Duties
- Maintain proper grooming and uniform standards
- Deliver genuine hospitality to and establish emotional connections with our guests
- Contribute to the overall teamwork and success of the restaurant
- Communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Determine guests needs while making the appropriate recommendations and offerings to enhance the dining experience
- Presents the best we have to offer, never selling the guest anything
- Prepares drink orders for guests and servers according to recipes in a timely manner
- Execute beverage tray service Answer guest questions regarding food and beverage offerings
- Adhere to all alcohol awareness procedures
- Handle guest complaints professionally and alert a manager immediately
- Process payments and handle cash professionally and accurately
- Communicate with managers and hosts regarding table availability and key table updates
- Follow up with guests about their meal and dining experience to ensure great guest satisfaction
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation
- Demonstrate professional and gracious demeanor at all times
- Perform all opening, running, and closing duties accurately
- Perform any job function requested by the management team
