Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a hospitality or bar environment preferred
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to lift and carry heavy items
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong team player
  • ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
  • basic math skills
  • willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • ability to operate point of sale systems
  • physical stamina and strength to perform cleaning and stocking tasks
  • positive attitude and friendly demeanor
  • English proficiency

Job Qualifications

  • Must consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet guests' needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from the guests' overall experience
  • must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management
  • must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction or training
  • must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus
  • working together as a team is a critical success factor
  • must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials
  • must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure
  • general accounting and mathematical skills required along with point of sale application knowledge
  • must correctly operate various mechanical devices such as pos systems, credit card machines and mixers
  • must evaluate current practices and processes, immediately recognize potential areas of conflict, and initiate ways to improve current business methods, quality of products and services provided to the guests
  • must be able to write and speak english effectively
  • occasionally works overtime and assists with the workload of others if needed
  • additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Job Duties

  • Greet and interact with guests in a friendly professional manner when applicable
  • assist bartenders with all aspects of guest service
  • smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times
  • wash and sterilize glassware and other serving equipment at bars
  • prepare garnishes for drinks
  • maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
  • maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
  • report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to bar manager
  • maintain and stock adequate supplies of bar items such as glasses, cups, napkins, drink supplies, condiments, etc.
  • stock refrigeration units with wines, beer, replace beer kegs, etc.
  • replenish ice at bar
  • empty bar trash cans
  • attend all scheduled employee meetings
  • additional tasks as assigned
