Job Description

The role being offered is that of a bartender, a critical position within the hospitality team. This role requires an individual who can deliver exceptional food and beverage service with a particular emphasis on preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The bartender will mix drinks according to standard and signature recipes while following company policies as well as local alcoholic beverage regulations. The position demands a person who can maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment, constantly engaging with customers to enhance their overall experience.

As a bartender, you will be responsible not only for crafting drinks but also for contributing to the overall ambiance of the bar by keeping it clean and well-organized. You will play a key role in greeting guests, taking orders accurately, handling payments, and ensuring that all bar-related customer service activities meet company standards. Working closely with restaurant management and other staff members, you will help maintain inventory, restock supplies, and attend to special customer requests. Additionally, you will be tasked with adhering to health and safety guidelines, including checking IDs to comply with age restrictions.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • prior bartending experience preferred
  • ability to learn Point of Sale system and basic guest service standards
  • have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes
  • possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate cash register
  • able to work in standing position for long periods up to 5 hours
  • able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 35 pounds

Job Duties

  • Perform all opening and closing duties as appropriate
  • comply with standard grooming and dress code policies
  • greet guests entering and exiting the restaurant in a friendly and courteous manner
  • take beverage orders from guests and servers
  • prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant's standard drink recipes
  • learn the names and personally recognize our regulars
  • check the identification of customers seated at the bar to ensure that they meet the minimum drinking age
  • record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system
  • accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change
  • collect all tips and place them in the tip jar for even distribution
  • wash and sterilize glassware
  • regularly confirm that cooler temperatures meet company standards
  • change television channels to ensure customer satisfaction
  • prepare garnishes for drinks
  • maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner
  • clear and reset tables in bar area
  • present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages
  • maintain cleanliness in all bar areas including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage
  • conform to attendance and punctuality standards
  • replenish cash drawers to the equivalent amount
  • receive and serve food orders to guests at the bar
  • follow up with customers to ensure guest satisfaction
  • report equipment problems, bar maintenance issues, and unsatisfactory customer experiences to manager
  • assist restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
  • promptly and accurately receive telephone food orders
  • relay telephone messages to the manager
  • log all food complaints and beverage waste in customer complaint book
  • treat every customer and employee with courtesy and respect
  • check liquor orders in absence of manager
  • fill in as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations as directed
