The Bartender at Life Time plays a crucial role in enhancing the member and customer experience by expertly preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages within the cafe setting. This role demands a strong knowledge of alcohol service laws to ensure compliance and safety at all times. Bartenders interact directly with customers, accepting orders, serving drinks, and occasionally taking food orders to provide comprehensive service. Maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace is a critical duty, as is managing bar inventory and supplies diligently. The position requires the bartender to follow set recipes meticulously to prepare cocktails with precision, including proper garnishing to meet presentation standards.

In addition to beverage preparation, the bartender is responsible for cash handling tasks such as reconciling the bar’s cash register at the end of the shift, ensuring accurate financial accounting. The ability to handle customers courteously and efficiently, checking identification to verify age for alcohol service, and addressing inquiries promptly are essential facets of the role. This job demands physical stamina as the bartender must be able to bend repeatedly to lift weights over 20 pounds and remain on their feet, moving about the cafe for extended periods. The optimum candidate will have 1 to 2 years of bartending experience, be certified to serve alcohol, and complete CPR/AED certification within the first month of employment. Experience with inventory management and ordering is preferred but not mandatory.
