Job Description
Vandelay Companies has been a defining force in the hospitality industry for over ten years, building a strong reputation for delivering iconic and enduring dining experiences. Known for its passionately crafted restaurant concepts such as Hudson House, Drake's Hollywood, and D.L. Mack's, Vandelay stands out as a hospitality group committed to excellence, connection, and craftsmanship. At its core, Vandelay celebrates American dining traditions by creating timeless spaces that foster genuine warmth and leave lasting impressions on every guest. The company has cultivated a portfolio that reflects its dedication to quality and hospitality, making it a standout choice for professionals seeking to join a dynamic and growing organization in the restaurant industry.
The opportunity available at Hudson House, part of the Vandelay Companies portfolio, is for the role of a Bartender. Bartenders here play a pivotal role in shaping the guest experience by expertly crafting beverages and providing polished and warm service. This position is not limited to just preparing drinks; it extends to supporting the dining room, engaging guests, and helping to create an atmosphere where every visitor feels welcome and valued. Efficiency, attentiveness, and a commitment to outstanding service are essential qualities for success in this role.
Bartenders at Hudson House are expected to possess comprehensive knowledge of a varied beverage program, which includes wines, spirits, cocktails, beers, and seasonal selections. They are tasked with anticipating guest needs and offering thoughtful recommendations to enhance the overall dining and drinking experience. The position demands a keen eye for detail in every aspect of service—from the precision in cocktail preparation to maintaining order accuracy and proper presentation.
Beyond the technical skills, bartenders must work collaboratively with servers, hosts, and other team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest interactions. They are also responsible for maintaining bar inventory and cleanliness, executing opening and closing procedures, and adhering strictly to responsible alcohol service policies to safeguard guest safety.
This role offers more than just a job; it provides a chance to grow professionally within a vibrant hospitality culture that values development and learning. Bartenders at Hudson House are encouraged to participate in ongoing training to further deepen their knowledge and refine their skills, contributing to both personal and organizational success. The company provides an environment that supports work-life balance, with benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible scheduling, and paid time off aligning with holidays to enable meaningful family time.
Overall, this bartender position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, upscale environments, have a passion for wine, beer, and craft cocktails, and are eager to be part of a team that prioritizes hospitality and teamwork. Vandelay Companies’ commitment to equal employment opportunities further exemplifies its dedication to a supportive and inclusive workplace where every employee can thrive and contribute to creating memorable hospitality experiences for every guest.
