The Bartender role at Shamin Hotels is a vital position located within the Food and Beverage Department, reporting directly to the Bar Manager. This hourly, paid bi-weekly position is designed for individuals who are passionate about mixology, customer service, and creating memorable experiences for guests. Bartenders at Shamin Hotels are not only responsible for mixing and serving drinks but also play a critical role as frontline ambassadors. These professionals ensure the bar is efficiently set up with all necessary supplies, manage inventory, and maintain cleanliness and order at the bar area. The role requires accuracy in processing payments, verifying guests' legal age to consume alcohol, and adhering strictly to company policies, including TIP certification and responsible alcohol service. Job Duties
- Sets up a bar with supplies such as fruit, garnishes, cocktail napkins, glassware, and product prior to opening
- Ensures the correct display of products to enhance sales and showcase selection
- Receives and prepares drink orders from guests and servers using standard pours and recipes
- Rings drink orders into register, collects money and makes correct change
- Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating and actively enhances guest relations
- Closes down bar ensuring inventory is locked, bar cleaned and sanitized, and supplies put away
- Assists servers with serving food and beverages when necessary
- Informs guests of daily specials and chef's specialties
- Takes guests orders accurately and timely
- Places order with kitchen and informs cooks about special instructions
- Serves beverages and meals according to standard procedures
- Performs quality check to ensure guest satisfaction
- Removes soiled plates and glassware according to standard procedures
- Suggests and serves dessert, coffee and after dinner drinks
- Verifies accuracy for prices, tips and other charges on all checks
- Handles cash and credit card charges according to procedures
- Clears and resets tables after guests leave
- Keeps table, dining room and bus station areas clean
- Advises supervisor of any complaints
- Performs clean-up and closing duties
- Attends pre-shift line-up
- Reviews and turns in Z report with correct cash drop and credit card slips
- Performs any job or guest-related tasks assigned by supervisor
- Reports to work neat and well-groomed
- Treats all guests to ensure complete satisfaction
- Strives to exceed guests expectations
- Gains TIP certification within 3 months
- Checks guest identification to ensure legal age
- Refuses service politely to underage guests
- Uses judgment to handle difficult situations involving alcohol intoxication and underage drinking
- Observes guests consuming alcohol and offers taxi if needed
- Supports company policies relevant to role
