Job Description

Wyndemere is a distinguished senior living community situated just outside of downtown Wheaton, Illinois. The available position is for a part-time Bartender who will work 20 hours per week, with shifts scheduled from 11am to 7:30pm. Open availability is preferred to meet the needs of the residents and guests effectively. The compensation for this role is $21.63 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, and dental insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and 23 days per year of paid time off. As a Bartender at Wyndemere, you will play an essential role in enhancing the social experience of the community’s residents and guests. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and serve beverages including cocktails, wine, and beer, while adhering strictly to all state and local alcohol service regulations. Additionally, you will serve food and maintain the bar area, including the lounge and wine room. Daily tasks include managing weekly inventory, preparing garnishes, and ensuring that the bar and surrounding areas are kept neat and orderly at all times. You will also communicate effectively with residents, guests, and management to address any concerns promptly, contributing to an exceptional living environment.

The role requires a high level of hospitality and senior attentiveness, ensuring that every interaction is pleasant and respectful. You will assist in maintaining sanitation standards and support various duties such as restocking and cleaning as needed. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers
  • experience bartending in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining experience strongly preferred
  • must be able to perform the physical functions of the job
  • standing and walking up to 90 percent of the day
  • may be required to lift up to 50 lbs regularly

Job Duties

  • Prepares and serves beverages including cocktails, wine, and beer to residents and guests, adhering to all state and local regulations regarding alcohol service
  • serves food to residents and guests
  • maintains weekly inventory of beverages, bar items, and supplies
  • submits list of needed items to Food and Beverage Director
  • prepares garnishes for bar use
  • maintains a neat and orderly appearance of the lounge, wine room, and work station at all times
  • communicates resident and guest concerns to management
  • assists in maintaining and achieving departmental sanitation standards and goals
  • follows all relevant laws and regulations
  • other duties as assigned, including but not limited to
  • re-stocking, organizing bar items, various cleaning duties etc.
