Job Description

Wyndemere is a distinguished senior living community located just outside of downtown Wheaton, Illinois. With a focus on providing a comforting and engaging environment for its residents, Wyndemere offers an Independent Living facility on its campus designed to cater to the unique needs of senior individuals. We are currently seeking a part-time Bartender to join our hospitality team at Wyndemere. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage closely with the senior community, providing not just beverage service but also companionship and a warm social atmosphere. Working 20 hours a week from 11 am to 7:30 pm, the Bartender is a vital member of the team, tasked with preparing and serving beverages and light food in accordance with all local and state regulations. The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive hourly wage of $21.63 plus benefits, including medical, vision, dental insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and 23 days per year of paid time off.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers
  • Experience bartending in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining experience strongly preferred
  • Must be able to perform the physical functions of the job
  • Standing and walking up to 90 percent of the day
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs regularly

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers
  • Experience bartending in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining experience strongly preferred
  • Must be able to perform the physical functions of the job, including standing and walking up to 90 percent of the day and regularly lifting up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Prepares and serves beverages including cocktails, wine, and beer to residents and guests, adhering to all state and local regulations regarding alcohol service
  • Serves food to residents and guests
  • Maintains weekly inventory of beverages, bar items, and supplies
  • Submits list of needed items to Food and Beverage Director
  • Prepares garnishes for bar use
  • Maintains a neat and orderly appearance of the lounge, wine room, and work station at all times
  • Communicates resident and guest concerns to management
  • Assists in maintaining and achieving departmental sanitation standards and goals
  • Follows all relevant laws and regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned including restocking, organizing bar items, and various cleaning duties
