The role of a Bartender at Spokane Tribe Casino is a full-time position that demands a friendly, efficient, and professional individual who can provide excellent bar service by mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages according to established recipes and service standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the casino's reputation for outstanding guest experiences by creating well-crafted cocktails and beverages that meet precise quality standards. The bartender must be adept at managing a clean and organized bar area, handling POS and cash transactions accurately, and ensuring strict compliance with responsible alcohol service guidelines including verifying guest eligibility for alcohol consumption.
Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, the bartender is expected to perform duties during nights, weekends, and holidays, adapting to the constant ebb and flow of customer demand prevalent in the gaming and hospitality industry. The position requires prior bartending experience, along with the ability to maintain composure and multitask effectively under pressure. Understanding and maintaining all gaming, alcohol, and tribal employment requirements is mandatory, ensuring compliance with state and tribal regulations. Additionally, the bartender is responsible for regular communication with the Beverage Manager regarding equipment maintenance and repairs, managing inventory and par levels, and securing accountability for the assigned bank, including cash overages and shortages.
Working conditions include exposure to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke, necessitating excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude towards guest interactions and teamwork. The bartender will oversee barbacks, inspect the bar area regularly, and maintain a safe, hygienic workspace. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Prior bartending experience preferred
- Meet all gaming, alcohol, and tribal employment requirements
- Ability to tolerate areas containing varying noise, smoke, and temperature levels
- Strong communication skills
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to secure and maintain STATE or TRIBAL Gaming License
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Knowledge of and ability to mix a wide variety of drinks
- Five years of bartending or similar experience or progressive promotion and training within Food and Beverage department
- Strong guest service and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Able to tolerate varying levels of noise, smoke, and temperature
- Ability to secure and maintain STATE or TRIBAL Gaming License
Job Duties
- Provide friendly and efficient bar service by mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages according to established recipes and service standards
- Maintain clean and organized bar areas
- Handle cash and POS transactions accurately
- Verify guest eligibility and follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment
- Prepare cocktails for cocktail servers and guests using prescribed recipes
- Maintain equipment in an orderly manner and advise Beverage Manager of any equipment needs or repairs
- Interact with guests to make them feel comfortable and welcome
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Monitor proper par levels of all supplies at assigned bars
- Communicate any problems or situations detrimental to property to immediate supervisor
- Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and accountable for all overages and shortages
