The role offered is an hourly, non-exempt Bartender position at a competitive rate of $16.90 per hour plus tips, inviting applicants who enjoy working in a vibrant, fast-paced environment with a focus on customer service excellence. The Bartender will provide AUS-SOME dining experiences by carefully crafting drinks to perfection while adhering to safety and sanitation standards. This role also requires extensive knowledge of the menu to recommend and upsell beverages effectively and provides support to Servers with beverage selections. Teamwork is a fundamental expectation, as Outbackers must support all restaurant areas whenever business needs arise. Job Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 30 lbs
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Able to work in hot and cold environments
- Ability to walk and stand for up to 8 hours per shift
- Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, and stooping
- Manual dexterity to handle glassware, utensils, and technology
- Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Visual ability including distance, close, color, depth, and peripheral vision, able to adjust focus as needed
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
- Responsible Beverage Service Certification required for California positions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior bartending or food service experience is an advantage
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of beverage mixing techniques and safety standards
- Certification for Responsible Beverage Service (can be completed during training for California positions)
- Team player with a positive attitude
Job Duties
- Exceed customer expectations at the bar by providing friendly, prompt, and attentive service guided by guest cues
- Efficiently craft every drink to perfection with proper safety, tools, and recipe standards while serving responsibly
- Maintain extensive knowledge of the food and drink menu to recommend and upsell
- Demonstrate teamwork by supporting all areas of the restaurant as needed
- Provide expertise and support to Servers on beverage selections and offerings
- Commit to food safety, cleanliness, job safety, and sanitation standards
