The Hyatt House Portland Downtown, Oregon, a hotel under InnVentures’ management, is currently looking for passionate and skilled Bartenders to join their food and beverage team. This role allows candidates to bring their passion for mixology to life by creating memorable guest experiences and ensuring that every guest enjoys high-quality service. As a Bartender, you will play a critical role in helping guests to lift their glass and toast to a successful stay, providing not just drinks, but also engaging conversations that support building guest loyalty. This position is well suited for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy a social and interactive work setting.

In this role, Bartenders will be responsible for serving guests in various settings including the bar, restaurant, and room service. The role requires mixing ingredients to prepare a wide array of cocktails and other beverages, including wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks. Creativity and flexibility are essential to meet unique guest requests and provide personalized service. Bartenders will also handle completing guest orders, accurately collecting payments, maintaining cleanliness and organization of their work areas, and assisting with inventory and ordering of food and beverage supplies. Collaboration with other hotel departments is key to supporting overall hotel goals and delivering a seamless guest experience.

The Bartender role requires strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to stand and move for an entire shift, and to safely lift up to 25 pounds. Candidates must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Permit and an Alcohol Server’s Permit and should be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Previous food and beverage or serving experience is required, with specific bartending experience preferred at some locations.

Job Duties

  • Serve guests in the bar, restaurant and room service attentively and efficiently
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks
  • Serve wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Serve food prepared in the restaurant as needed
  • Offer both flexibility and creativity to meet guest requests
  • Complete guest orders and accurately collect payments
  • Clean and wash bar ware, utensils and bar area
  • Restock and prep bar items as needed
  • Assist with quality, cleanliness and organization of the bar, restaurant and kitchen
  • Assist with inventory, ordering and receiving of all food and beverage items
  • Support the goals of the hotel through teamwork and collaboration with all departments
