Job Description
Mexico Ceaty is an exciting and dynamic new dining concept that brings a fresh and innovative approach to the vibrant San Antonio culinary scene. Situated inside the Shops at Rivercenter on the San Antonio River Walk, the second most visited destination in Texas after The Alamo, Mexico Ceaty offers guests an exceptional atmosphere combining innovative cuisine with premium hospitality standards. This venue is part of the well-established Jason Dady Restaurant Group, a leader in San Antonio's food industry for over 20 years. The group has earned a stellar reputation for fostering diverse dining experiences across its varied portfolio, which includes well-known establishments such as Tre Trattoria, Range at Hotel Embassy Downtown, and Two Bros BBQ Market among others. Mexico Ceaty represents the group's most ambitious venture to date, highlighting the importance placed on culinary innovation and guest satisfaction in a highly trafficked and prominent location. The restaurant emphasizes a culture of inclusivity and diversity, encouraging candidates from all backgrounds to bring their talents and perspectives to the team.
The role of the bartender at Mexico Ceaty is more than just mixing drinks; it is about creating a stage where every guest interaction is an engaging performance and every cocktail serves as a vehicle delivering an unforgettable experience. The ideal candidate embodies the GWC philosophy – Get it, Want it, Capacity to do it – illustrating a strong personal investment and dedication to excellence. Responsibilities include crafting cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages precisely by specification each time, with an essential focus on expert knowledge of tequila and mezcal offerings, especially crucial due to the restaurant's notable spirit programs.
The bartender is not just a drink maker but a storyteller and educator, engaging guests with enthusiasm and meaningful conversation to enrich their visit. Maintaining regulatory compliance with alcohol consumption, particularly TABC standards, is a critical aspect of this position to ensure safe and responsible service. Beyond drink preparation, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar, timely restocking, and effective communication with barbacks and the wider service team ensures smooth operations and a seamless guest experience. The bartender also plays a key role in training and supporting their barback, fostering an environment of learning and teamwork.
Performance metrics center around crafting consistently perfect drinks, providing friendly and attentive service, minimizing drink comping due to errors, maintaining accurate bar inventory, and enhancing customer loyalty with repeat business. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, proactive supply management, and active participation in daily team meetings to stay informed on daily specials and VIP guests. With the vibrant atmosphere of Mexico Ceaty and the backing of the prestigious Jason Dady Restaurant Group, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for bartenders passionate about their craft, guest interaction, and being part of a prominent culinary destination.
