Job Description

The Stoneleigh is a prestigious and storied landmark located in the heart of Uptown Dallas, renowned for its rich and alluring legacy. Currently undergoing a significant $20 million renovation, The Stoneleigh is set to re-launch as part of Marriott's esteemed Autograph Collection in early Q2 2026. This transformation will introduce expansive and luxurious rooms, exceptional dining experiences, and an ambiance that seamlessly blends bold, timeless design with contemporary luxury. The hotel is positioned to become a premier destination for guests seeking both comfort and a culturally vibrant atmosphere.

In addition to its exceptional accommodations, The Stoneleigh will be home to a new restaurant led by the award-winning Chef Michael White. Chef White's impressive culinary credentials include the prestigious James Beard award, five simultaneous Michelin stars, and multiple New York Times 3-star and 4-star reviews. His innovative dining concepts feature the Lions Den, a restaurant that highlights carefully crafted dishes inspired by seasonal ingredients, global flavors, and the unique spirit of Dallas. Scheduled to open in early March 2026, Lions Den promises to offer guests an extraordinary gastronomic experience.

The role offered involves serving guests in a hospitable manner to ensure a positive and memorable experience. Key responsibilities include maintaining the bar's setup and stock, preparing fresh garnishes and perishables, and skillfully mixing and presenting beverages using standard recipes and portion controls. The position requires adherence to all applicable state, federal, and corporate regulations regarding alcohol service.

This role demands excellent communication skills to engage with guests courteously, proper handling of monetary transactions, and the ability to maintain accountability of all beverages served. Additionally, the role involves securing all beverage and food equipment, complying with attendance policies, and performing other job-related duties as assigned. The position offers eligibility for tips and service charges but does not include discretionary performance bonuses.

Candidates should possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service, mathematical skills required for cash handling, and the physical dexterity to perform garnishing, mixing, and stock handling tasks. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work in confined spaces and maintain productive relationships with colleagues and guests. Hotel experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate well with guests
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and alcoholic beverage service
  • Basic mathematical skills for cash register operations and change making
  • Manual dexterity to prepare garnishes, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice and mix drinks
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
  • Ability to operate keyboard and point of sale systems
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with associates and guests
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Maintain proper and adequate bar setup daily including requisitioning and stocking of beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily projections
  • Maintain stock, cut, and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure product quality
  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document drink orders, mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control
  • Abide by all state, federal and corporate regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Input orders into register at point of sale and create checks to maintain beverage accountability
  • Receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record transactions and execute vouchers properly to balance money
  • Lock and store all beverage, food and equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure bank
  • Comply with attendance rules and be regularly available to work
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
