Job Requirements
- Must have two years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
- Must have accurate mathematic skills
- Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
- Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wines and their distinctions and use
- Must know menu and specials
- Must know wine list
- Must know liquor list and recipes for special drinks
- Must know liquor liability laws and knowledge
- Must know accounting procedures
- Meet personal schedule requirements punctually
- Be courteous, pleasant and good natured
- Communicate with and understand the average guest
- Provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
- Stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty
- Work nights, weekends and holidays
- Accurately work with and account for large sums of money
- Open beer, liquor, and wine bottles frequently
- When bar back is not available must be physically able to move and transport filled glass rack
- Move cases of beer, wine or liquor
Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years experience in a full service bar or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage preparation
- Familiarity with types of liquors, wines and their distinctions
- Understanding of menu, specials, and wine list
- Knowledge of liquor liability laws
- Understanding of accounting procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers
- Good mathematical skills
- Pleasant and courteous demeanor
- Ability to stand or walk long periods
- Capability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Able to handle cash accurately
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve beverages directly to customers at the bar and lounge area
- Provide food service to guests seated at the bar
- Arrange and set up beverages, mixes, and supplies according to standard operating procedures
- Complete all side work assignments when assigned
- Prepare ingredients needed for mixed beverage recipes
- Use equipment and utensils safely in beverage preparation
- Count and manage cash drawer
- Operate all bar service functions independently if necessary
- Take and fill food orders from guests seated at the bar using communication equipment
- Communicate clearly and cordially with co-workers and guests
- Record and account for all items served
- Maintain security of bar stock inventory
- Assist host staff with answering telephones
- Perform varied duties to ensure bar service complies with operating procedures
