Black Fox Coffee, a renowned specialty coffee provider with over nine years of experience, is expanding its presence by opening its flagship cafe in Downtown Austin. Job Requirements
- 18 plus years of age
- Minimum 2 years work experience as a barista in an establishment of similar standard and quality to Black Fox Coffee
- Availability of at least 24 hours per week
- Ability to stand and work for up to 10 hours a day
- Ability to squat, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Passion for providing exceptional hospitality experience
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently with quality assurance focus
- Upbeat attitude and ability to work well within a small team
- Ability to take direction, receive coaching and feedback, and strive to execute at a high level
- Enthusiastic love of coffee and food with willingness to learn extensively about products
- Quality-focused, detail-oriented, and reliable
- Ability to read, write, and converse in English at a conversational level during work times
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience as a barista in a similar quality establishment
- Ability to work a minimum of 24 hours per week
- Strong passion for coffee and hospitality
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused
- Ability to work well in a small team
- Willingness to learn extensively about coffee and related products
- Demonstrated ability to take direction and feedback positively
- Physical ability to perform required work duties
Job Duties
- Taste all coffee offerings and be knowledgeable about their origins and flavor profiles
- Greet, serve, and engage with guests in an upbeat, friendly, and professional manner
- Provide exceptional hospitality experiences ensuring guests are the top priority
- Maintain awareness of guests and the overall cafe environment
- Explain the full range of products including coffee, tea, pastries, and meals, and provide guidance as needed
- Process orders and payments using the POS system
- Adhere strictly to company recipes, procedures, and standards
- Keep the cafe clean, tidy, and visually appealing at all times
- Work autonomously within the team while following Black Fox procedures
- Prepare, brew, and monitor coffee quality and levels aiming to serve within three minutes
- Utilize equipment safely according to company protocols
- Count cash and reconcile register, recording cash drops accurately
- Complete daily opening and closing checklists
- Stay updated and communicate with colleagues via Slack
- Maintain food safety standards including holding a valid food handling license
- Conduct regular restocking, cleaning, and prep tasks as required
