The AM Bartender/Barista role at The Lake House is a dynamic position focused on crafting exceptional morning beverages and providing friendly, efficient bar service to guests. This position requires a high level of professionalism and service aptitude, as the bartender/barista is responsible for mixing, preparing, and serving cocktails, coffee, and other beverages according to established recipes and guest preferences. A key aspect of this role is ensuring the legality and safety of alcohol consumption by verifying age limits in line with OLCC regulations. The successful candidate will also assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond standards through cleanliness, proper stocking of supplies and ingredients, and attentive customer service. In addition, the bartender/barista will engage with guests, offering menu advice, responding to inquiries about the resort, and resolving any issues with tact and understanding. The role demands the ability to operate POS systems, manage cash drawers accurately, maintain proper bookkeeping and payments, and contribute to opening, ongoing, and closing sidework. Physical demands include standing for long periods and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, reflecting the active nature of this hospitality role. The position requires excellent listening skills, the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with prior resort serving, barista, food and beverage, and bartending experience will find this role particularly rewarding. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must possess valid OLCC card upon hire
  • Must possess valid Food Handler's card upon hire
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must have excellent listening skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year resort server experience preferred
  • At least one year food & beverage experience preferred
  • At least six months experience with POS systems preferred
  • At least one year bartending experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Provide F&B poolside service as required
  • Mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other beverages according to recipe
  • Maintains cleanliness of walk-ins and reach-ins
  • Adheres to all OLCC, Food Handlers and CPR standards and Sunriver Resort policies
  • Ensures cleanliness of bar and glassware
  • Takes food and beverages orders, using POS system to ring items in
  • Ensures opening, ongoing and closing sidework is complete
  • Counts money in cash drawers at end of shift to ensure the amounts are correct and there is adequate change
  • Ensures end of shift bank is balanced with appropriate procedures followed in daily drop
  • Obtains credit cards or room information to begin tabs
  • Must ensure bookkeeping and proper payment is received
  • Maintains seasonal liquor, beer and wine pars
  • Properly reports tips and hours at the end of each shift using the proper documents for recording
  • Ensures supplies/ingredients are properly stocked before, during and after shift
  • Checks identification to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase/consumption
  • Offers menu advice and suggestions to guests
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of beverage trends
  • Attends mandatory department meetings
  • Resolves guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness
  • Provides general resort information for guests
