The Barista role at Guest Services, Inc. is integral to maintaining the exceptional customer experience the company prides itself on. The primary responsibility of a Barista involves the preparation of coffee, tea, and a variety of specialty drinks, ensuring that each beverage is crafted with expertise and consistency. Beyond beverage preparation, this role requires outstanding customer service skills, as the Barista interacts directly with guests, greeting them warmly, taking precise orders, processing payments using point-of-sale systems, and addressing any questions or concerns customers may have.

The Barista is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the work area, managing inventory and supplies, and upholding safety standards within the workplace. The role demands strong communication skills to liaise effectively with managers and team members, especially in fast-paced environments where frequent movement and multitasking are necessary. Physical stamina is also essential, as the Barista will spend the entire workday standing, lifting items up to 50 pounds occasionally, and working in varying temperature conditions including freezers and refrigerators.

Technology use is part of daily duties, with the Barista operating coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, and espresso machines, as well as touch-screen POS systems and credit card machines. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong math skills for accurate transaction handling and meticulous cash management. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a polite, positive manner and take beverage orders
  • Identify items and corresponding cost of items and tabulate bills using cash register, calculator, or other price equipment
  • Prepare requested drink and deliver to customer
  • Issue receipts, refunds, credit, or change due to customers accurately
  • Maintain cash register and contents within
  • Turn in cash drawer and sales reconciliation at shifts’ end
  • Smile and greet customers entering unit
  • answer customers’ questions, and provide information on company policies
  • Thank each customer
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area
  • stock and maintain area with various supplies
  • Serve other items as per unit guidelines
  • Maintain awareness of safety issues, and report them immediately to your manager
