Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized coffeehouse chain renowned for crafting the world's finest coffee and creating meaningful moments for its customers. Established as a leader in the specialty coffee industry, Starbucks has built a reputation not only for its premium coffee products but also for its commitment to fostering a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment. With thousands of stores worldwide, Starbucks provides a vibrant space where customers can connect, unwind, and enjoy expertly crafted coffee beverages and food offerings.

This company prides itself on its culture of connection and community, fueling every cup with a dedication to quality and customer experience. Their focus on partner development and empowerment ensures employees grow both personally and professionally. Starbucks offers comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation to support their team members, whom they refer to as partners.

The role of a Starbucks Barista is foundational to delivering the Starbucks experience. This position requires an individual passionate about coffee, people, and creating positive interactions. As a Barista, your primary responsibility is to craft quality beverages and food products to standard or customized recipes while maintaining high standards of store operations including cash handling, safety, and security. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role where engaging with customers to understand their preferences and needs is essential. Baristas contribute directly to shaping memorable customer experiences by serving with a smile, remembering favorite orders, and fostering a friendly atmosphere.

No previous experience is needed to join Starbucks as a Barista. Rather, the company values attitude, quick learning ability, and interpersonal skills. Partners are expected to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality and be flexible to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and nights. They perform multiple tasks within the store during each shift, developing a versatile skill set applicable within the company and beyond.

Starbucks invests heavily in its partners' growth, offering training and development opportunities. The company features industry-leading benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, paid parental leave, family expansion reimbursement, and sick time. Paid vacation accrues starting early based on hours worked, and additional pay is provided for working on observed holidays.

Furthermore, Starbucks supports its partners with a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, stock purchase programs, emergency savings incentives, and financial well-being tools. Education support is robust via the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, enabling full tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University's online program. Backup care options and DACA reimbursement are also available.

Starbucks is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. The company’s policies comply with federal, state, and local employment laws to protect all partners and applicants.

In summary, joining Starbucks as a Barista means becoming part of a company that crafts coffee and connections with care, provides extensive support and benefits to its partners, and offers opportunities for personal development in a dynamic, community-oriented work environment.
