Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized coffeehouse chain dedicated to crafting the world’s finest coffee while creating meaningful moments for its customers. Established over 40 years ago, Starbucks has grown into one of the most popular and influential brands in the food and beverage industry, known for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and community engagement. The company prides itself on providing a warm and welcoming environment where every cup of coffee serves as an opportunity to spark connection and brighten a customer’s day. Whether it is through a warm smile, remembering a favorite order, or offering personalized service, Starbucks partners strive to create moments that matter to each guest.

Starbucks operates thousands of stores worldwide, offering a wide range of handcrafted beverages, food products, and merchandise. Starbucks is also deeply invested in partner (employee) growth and development, offering continuous learning opportunities and industry-leading benefits designed to support partners and their families. As a partner at Starbucks, you are encouraged to grow professionally and personally, empowered by a supportive culture that values every individual’s contribution.

The role of a Starbucks partner (barista) is a vital part of the customer experience. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy engaging with people, and take pride in delivering exceptional service. No prior experience is required, making it a fantastic opportunity for people seeking entry-level employment or to begin a career in the food service and hospitality industry. The partner will be responsible for preparing high-quality food and beverages to standard and customized recipes, including coffee and other specialty drinks, while ensuring store policies and safety standards are consistently met.

Partners must be adaptable, capable of performing varied tasks efficiently during each shift, and committed to maintaining punctuality and attendance. The role requires clear and pleasant communication skills to engage customers effectively, understand their needs, and build lasting relationships. Flexible working hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays, are necessary to meet the diverse schedules of the store’s operation.

Starbucks offers competitive compensation starting at the entry point of the pay range depending on geographic location and individual qualifications. Additionally, Starbucks partners receive access to comprehensive benefits packages including medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance options, paid parental leave, paid vacations, sick time accruals, and holiday pay. Beyond health benefits, partners also gain access to a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching, stock purchase programs, emergency savings incentives, educational opportunities including 100% tuition coverage for a bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University, and various financial wellness resources.

Starbucks is committed to inclusivity and equal opportunity employment, welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds without discrimination. Disability accommodations are available for applicants to ensure an accessible recruitment process. Those passionate about delivering quality service, building customer connections, and growing within a supportive and innovative company culture will find Starbucks a rewarding environment to contribute and develop. Joining Starbucks means becoming part of a global network dedicated not only to coffee but to fostering communities and enriching lives, one meaningful moment at a time.
