Job Description
Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the coffeehouse industry, known for crafting the world's finest coffee and creating warm, welcoming spaces for customers around the world. Founded in 1971, Starbucks has grown from a single store in Seattle, Washington, to an expansive global brand with thousands of stores in numerous countries. The company emphasizes not just quality coffee, but also the experience and connection fostered in each store. Starbucks is dedicated to building a culture of inclusiveness, respect, and diversity, and offers its employees, known as partners, numerous benefits and opportunities for growth both personally and professionally.
The role of a Starbucks Barista is foundational to the brand's commitment to crafting exceptional coffee and creating meaningful experiences for every customer. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy engaging with people, and take pride in their work. Baristas serve as the face of Starbucks at each location and have the unique opportunity to brighten customers' days through personalized service, from greeting them with a warm smile to remembering their favorite orders. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.
At Starbucks, being a barista is more than just making coffee—it's about building relationships and community. Partners are encouraged to learn quickly and develop their skills through hands-on experiences and support from the team. Attention to quality and consistency in preparing beverages and food products to standard recipes or customized orders is essential. Baristas also play an important role in maintaining store safety, handling cash, and contributing to a positive, teamwork-driven workplace.
Starbucks invests heavily in the development and well-being of its partners, offering comprehensive benefits that support health, financial security, education, and work-life balance. By joining Starbucks, partners not only begin a job but embark on a career journey marked by growth opportunities and meaningful contributions to the global coffee community. New baristas are typically hired at the beginning of the pay range based on location, with compensation reflecting the responsibilities and experience of the individual.
Starbucks Coffee Company is committed to equality and inclusivity in its hiring practices, offering equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status. The company also provides reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities, ensuring a supportive and accessible work environment. Overall, this opportunity is well-suited for motivated individuals eager to be part of a respected brand known for quality, community, and care.
