Job Requirements
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds without assistance
- move quickly and efficiently within the cafe
- ability to hear and communicate effectively in English
- good vision including close-range details
- flexibility to bend and squat for cleaning and stocking tasks
- ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment
- capable of operating a cash register or tablet device
- full hand functionality for handling espresso machines and equipment
- ability to speak clearly and project voice to customers and team members
- minimum of 3 shifts per week availability
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cafe or restaurant setting is preferred but not required
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work well in a team environment and under pressure

Job Duties
- Upholds service standards and leads by example
- provides effective leadership during shifts, ensuring consistent excellence in cafe operations
- delivers exceptional customer service, serving as a role model for hospitality
- manages customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally, adhering to Alfred Hospitality standards
- possesses deep knowledge of cafe offerings and ensures staff does as well
- fosters a team-oriented environment by recognizing employee accomplishments
- assists with new employee training and provides detailed reports to management
- develops baristas' coffee and tea knowledge
- builds rapport with employees through understanding their motivations, needs, and concerns
- assists management in assessing staffing needs
- delegates duties and assigns tasks ensuring timely completion
- enforces disciplinary measures through the Disciplinary Flowchart
- maintains a supportive and accessible work environment for employees and guests
- demonstrates excellent and consistent attendance and punctuality
- anticipates customer and cafe needs by observing the environment and customer cues
- optimizes operational workflow through staff delegation
- supports inventory management and order placement
- ensures proper staff timekeeping
- manages cash drawer and tip procedures for opening and closing shifts
- operates the POS register system for transactions
- oversees food and beverage preparation adherence to Alfred standards
- maintains a clean, organized, and stocked cafe environment
- conducts daily refrigerator temperature checks to comply with standards
- enforces proper safety and sanitation procedures
- assists with receiving and handling product deliveries
- completes AM/PM Daily Cafe Log and utilizes communication channels
- documents employee and customer injuries using incident reports
- adheres to all policies and procedures outlined in the company's employee handbook
- performs any other tasks assigned to meet company goals
