The role available is that of an experienced, enthusiastic barista who will play a critical part in the daily operations of the bakeshop. This position requires someone passionate about coffee and customer service, with at least 2 years of recent barista experience and proficiency in using espresso machines, especially manual machines. The barista will be responsible for maintaining the quality and consistency of all beverages, ensuring the espresso machine and coffee brews are perfectly dialed in during each shift. They will also be in charge of keeping the cafe’s drink ingredients well-stocked and prepared for service. Additionally, the barista will engage customers positively, handling payments and packaging pastries with care. Collaboration with the kitchen team is essential to keep the pastry case inviting and well replenished throughout the day. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn all menu items to confidently discuss ingredients, flavors, and the cultural origins of the bakery’s offerings with customers. This position requires availability for at least one weekend day and approximately 24 hours weekly, covering three eight-hour shifts. The physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and navigating stairs. The hourly pay range is $15.00 to $22.00, reflecting the importance of experience and skill in this role.
