The role available at Mercy Medical Center is that of a Coffee Bar Attendant, responsible for the daily operations and overall presentation of the coffee bar and its related areas. This position requires a dedicated individual who can maintain a sanitary and organized environment, adhering strictly to food codes and regulatory standards to ensure the safety of all food and beverages served. Offering outstanding customer service in a professional and courteous manner is a cornerstone of this role. The Coffee Bar Attendant plays a critical part in delivering a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff by serving quality hot and cold food items as well as beverages like coffee, juice, and smoothies. The role involves hands-on responsibilities such as using equipment like cappuccino machines, coffee grinders, brewers, and blenders. The attendant will manage opening and closing duties, handle cash register operations with accuracy, and participate in inventory replenishment and stock rotation to maintain fresh, safe offerings. This position demands a strong understanding of food safety procedures including temperature monitoring and compliance documentation as well as the ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all aspects of the coffee bar. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to pass barista training within 2 months of hire
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • restaurant or food service operations experience preferred
  • proof of completion of mandatory reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire
  • ability to read and write
  • adaptability to repetitive and stressful work environments
  • physical ability to perform medium work including standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, pushing, pulling, and reaching
  • compliance with corporate policies and HIPAA security policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • knowledge of several subjects to prepare reports and perform calculations
  • ability to read and write
  • restaurant or food service experience preferred
  • completion of mandatory reporter abuse training within three months of hire
  • ability to pass barista training within two months
  • effective communication and customer service skills
  • knowledge of food safety codes and regulations

Job Duties
