Job Requirements
- Ability to perform essential job functions
- Certification as Starbucks Barista within training time
- Ability to write and call back drinks properly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods
- Must be able to meet schedule hours and work location requirements
- Current Utah Food Handler Permit or Food Protection Manager certification
Job Qualifications
- Entry level position
- Current Food Handlers work permit within one month of hire
- Successful completion of Barista training within one month of hire
- Demonstrated basic math and cash register skills
- Strong communication and human relations skills
- Ability to handle customer service, cash handling, and supply stocking
Job Duties
- Serve as a representative of both University of Utah Health and Starbucks Corporation providing the best beverage experience possible
- Ensure beverages are made according to Starbucks standards and customer requests
- Process cash, credit card, or phone payments and provide accurate change
- Adhere to guidelines for product date tagging, rotation, and work area cleaning
- Appropriately display and sell bottled beverages, sandwiches, and snacks
- Restock and clean the work area regularly
- Handle customer service and operational issues with minimal supervision
