The network serves diverse communities with a strong commitment to providing care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay, showcasing its dedication to inclusivity and service beyond expectations. As a part of this esteemed network, employees are motivated to uphold high standards of performance and contribute meaningfully to operational excellence, patient safety, and customer satisfaction, which reflects the organization’s overarching service excellence standards.

This position demands a keen attention to detail to ensure food quality, proper temperatures, and adherence to all dietary restrictions. Baristas play an essential role in merchandising and serving menu items that enhance the customer experience within the hospital environment. The role includes responsibilities such as assisting with general sanitation projects, cleaning equipment and food service areas, and ensuring confidentiality with respect to all materials handled. Flexibility is crucial since the role mandates working every other weekend and holidays to meet the demands of hospital operations. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, push, and pull varying weights, reflecting a physical, hands-on role that contributes to daily operational success. While prior customer service or food service experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, as on-the-job training is provided.

St. Luke's baristas contribute to a positive environment by interacting with patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner, embodying the network’s core values and performance improvement initiatives. The role fosters continuous learning and accountability, encouraging employees to demonstrate financial responsibility and operational efficiency in their duties.
