We are currently seeking a motivated Part-Time Barista to join our team at Baptist Health South located at 2105 East South Boulevard, Montgomery, AL 36116. This part-time role offers varied scheduling with shifts starting at 6:30 am, 7:00 am, or 12:00 pm. The Barista will be an integral member of our food service team, responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and espresso drinks alongside related food and beverage items. The position is ideal for individuals who have prior barista experience and a passion for providing excellent customer service. With a competitive pay rate of $17.25 per hour, this role presents an excellent opportunity for those looking for flexible part-time work in a dynamic health care food service environment.

The Barista will support our mission by ensuring that all beverages and food items are prepared to the highest standards, adhering to HACCP guidelines and food safety protocols. The successful candidate will interact positively with customers and coworkers, fostering a friendly and courteous atmosphere. Precise order handling through POS systems, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the service area, and presenting food and beverages attractively are central to this role. This position also involves restocking supplies, maintaining equipment sanitation, and promptly addressing customer inquiries to enhance satisfaction levels.

Job Duties

prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes
enters orders accurately into POS device
accepts cash and charge payments
replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
follows HACCP standards
maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments
greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors
serves customers quickly and efficiently, and prevents delays in serving lines
demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers
serves as an advocate of selling techniques to the customer by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision-making process
ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
