The Coffee Shop Associate is responsible for preparing coffee shop beverages and food with precision, adhering strictly to quality standards. This position requires efficient cash register operation, timely payment processing, and a courteous interaction with customers, ensuring a seamless shopping experience. The Coffee Shop Associate contributes to maintaining a clean and safe work environment, following all food safety and cleaning expectations faithfully. The role also involves stocking and rotating merchandise to ensure the freshest products are always available to customers. The associate is expected to be knowledgeable about current store programs, specials, and loyalty initiatives, helping to enhance the overall guest experience.
In addition to beverage and food preparation, this position demands adherence to company policies regarding security, cash handling, and product handling procedures. Associates must communicate effectively with customers about promotions and in-store specials while upholding SpartanNash's high standards of service. The role may require flexibility, including assisting in other departments as customer experience needs arise. Physical demands of the job include standing and walking for extended periods, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, and working in a typical retail environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. Job Duties
- Prepare coffee shop beverages
- prepare food items according to procedures
- ensure food and beverages are handled safely and work environment is clean
- operate cash register and process payments including cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, coupons
- stock items and rotate coffee merchandise
- maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
- notify department lead or manager if products and supplies need ordering
- comply with company policies on security, cash handling, and product handling
- maintain a clean and well-stocked department
- communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- follow all PPE and safety guidelines
- follow all food safety and cleaning expectations
- follow guest experience guidelines
- may be assigned tasks in other departments
