Job Description

Sheraton Grand Seattle is a distinguished hotel located in the heart of Seattle, Washington, offering a premium lodging experience complemented by exceptional culinary and beverage services. As part of Marriott International, a globally recognized hospitality leader, Sheraton Grand Seattle prides itself on delivering outstanding guest experiences, fostering a welcoming atmosphere, and maintaining high standards of service and professionalism. With its rich history dating back to 1937, Sheraton is known for creating a sense of belonging in more than 400 communities worldwide, emphasizing connection, hospitality, and cultural diversity.

This part-time Barista position at Sheraton Grand Seattle is a vital role within the hotel’s food and beverage department. The role demands a dedicated individual who can efficiently manage opening and closing duties, maintain cleanliness and order in their work area, and prepare coffee and food items to a high standard. This position is non-management, providing an excellent opportunity for those seeking to start or further their career in hospitality without supervisory responsibilities. The hourly pay is set at $22.95, with the added benefit of being tip-eligible, recognizing the essential customer-facing nature of the role.

As a Barista at Sheraton Grand Seattle, your day-to-day responsibilities will include setting up and stocking work areas with necessary supplies and tools, utilizing the MICROS system to input orders and handle transactions, and ensuring that coffee-making appliances are operated at appropriate times. You will be expected to maintain cleanliness throughout your shift by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, utensils, and equipment, and following all safety and hygiene protocols. As this role involves direct interaction with guests, it also requires excellent communication skills, a professional appearance, and an attitude that embodies genuine hospitality and appreciation for guests.

Sheraton values team collaboration, so you will be expected to develop positive working relationships with your colleagues to meet shared goals. The role also demands physical stamina as you will need to stand, walk, and move through confined spaces for extended periods, lifting and handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Sheraton emphasizes safety and compliance, requiring employees to adhere strictly to company policies and report any unsafe conditions promptly.

This role offers an enriching work environment where you are part of a global community that celebrates diverse backgrounds and experiences. Sheraton and Marriott International are committed to equal opportunity employment and fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. Beyond hourly wages and tips, Sheraton offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan, stock purchase plan, employee discounts at Marriott properties, commuter benefits, childcare discounts, and access to an employee assistance plan. Though this position is part-time, full-time associates have access to additional benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, paid parental leave, and educational assistance.

For residents in Washington, Sheraton ensures compliance with state regulations by providing accrued paid sick leave, paid time off, and eligibility for holidays. Joining Sheraton means joining a vibrant workplace focused on delivering meaningful guest experiences, where employees are empowered to become the best version of themselves while contributing to a respected global hospitality brand.
