We are currently seeking part-time Baristas to join our team at the Capital One Cafe located in the Easton Town Center, Columbus, OH. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about customer service, hospitality, and crafting high-quality coffee and espresso beverages in a fast-paced environment. The Barista role involves preparing and serving coffee and espresso drinks using standard recipes and measures, ensuring food safety and sanitation according to HACCP guidelines, and maintaining an appealing and clean service area to provide an exceptional customer experience. This schedule offers flexibility, operating Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sundays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no late-night or major holiday shifts, making it an attractive option for those seeking work-life balance.

The Barista position requires prior experience in customer service, hospitality, and cashier roles, with a willingness to learn and grow within a supportive environment, as training is provided. In this role, the Barista will engage directly with customers, taking and accurately entering orders into a POS system, processing payments, restocking supplies, and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the coffee bar and food display. The successful candidate will also be expected to understand the menu comprehensively, assist customers with their selections, promote sales through effective communication, and ensure all food and beverages are served attractively and safely. Additionally, the Barista will be responsible for following company policies and safety standards, contributing positively to the overall ambiance and operational flow of the cafe. Job Duties

  • prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes
  • enters orders accurately into POS device
  • accepts cash and charge payments
  • replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
  • ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
  • ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
  • keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
  • cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments
  • greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
  • relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors
  • serves customers quickly and efficiently and prevents delays in serving lines
  • demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers
  • serves as an advocate of selling techniques by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision-making process
  • ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
  • serves food neatly and attractively per standard
  • performs other duties as assigned
