Job Requirements
- Previous barista experience preferred but not required
- availability to work part-time hours including evenings
- ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
- ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- strong attention to detail
- capacity to stand for extended periods during a shift
- ability to follow prescribed recipes and portion control measures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to operate POS systems
- understanding of food safety standards such as HACCP
- strong communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- prior barista experience preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes
- enters orders accurately into POS device
- accepts cash and charge payments
- replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area
- ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
- maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
- ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards
- cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area
- greets customers courteously and interacts to ensure customer satisfaction
- serves customers quickly and efficiently, preventing delays
- demonstrates understanding of daily menu items and explains them to customers
- advocates selling techniques to assist customers with buying decisions
- ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
- performs other duties as assigned
