Job Description
DMC is a dynamic company specializing in managing retail coffee stores, committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences through professional and engaging service. As a well-established retail coffee service provider, DMC values hard work, team collaboration, and continuous skill development. With locations such as Osmium, one of its retail outlets, DMC ensures that every store reflects its core values and maintains high standards of service and operational excellence. The focus is on maintaining a clean, efficient, and welcoming environment for customers while supporting employees' personal and professional growth. Employment with DMC, particularly in the Barista role, offers a fulfilling experience with opportunities for advancement and comprehensive benefits to support employee well-being.
The Barista position at Osmium is an hourly, tip-eligible role that includes hands-on training and the chance to develop valuable skills in coffee preparation and retail operations. Starting pay is competitive at $16.00 per hour for tipped shifts and $16.60 per hour for untipped training shifts. Baristas have the responsibility to operate and maintain the store environment, represent DMC's core values, and provide outstanding customer service. This role requires physical stamina, as it involves some heavy lifting up to 60 pounds. Beyond the frontline duties, Baristas are encouraged to engage in training programs and work closely with Store Managers and Assistant Managers to stay abreast of product knowledge, store operations, and service protocols. After 90 days, employees become eligible for a comprehensive package of health benefits including medical, dental, vision, accident, critical illness coverage, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and voluntary life insurance. Additional benefits include 401(k) retirement plans and financial planning support. This ensures that team members are not only valued for the work they do but supported in their long-term financial and health goals.
The role emphasizes exceptional customer engagement, effective teamwork, and mastery of technical skills essential for coffee service and retail operations. Baristas will be expected to keep the service area clean and well-organized, ensure all product knowledge is current, maintain company assets, and handle POS operations with accuracy and professionalism. The position also involves mentoring new staff, reinforcing the training programs, and communicating effectively with management to ensure smooth store operations. This role is perfectly suited for individuals who are passionate about coffee culture, enjoy interacting with customers, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment. It offers practical experience, competitive compensation, and a supportive work culture that values growth and excellence.
