The Barista position at Omni Richmond Hotel is a vital role that upholds the highest standards of guest service, delivering quick, efficient, and professional coffee and beverage service in a welcoming environment. Baristas are responsible not only for preparing and serving coffee but also for ensuring the cleanliness and restocking of the coffee bar, maintaining cash handling accuracy, and providing excellent customer satisfaction. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with guests and coworkers, maintain professionalism under pressure, and adhere to food handling protocols and safety standards. The position demands flexibility in shifts, including working weekends and holidays, the ability to handle physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods, and certification as a ServSafe Food Handler. Employees in this role contribute significantly to the overall guest experience by demonstrating efficiency, organization, and attentiveness to guest needs, reinforcing the hotel’s reputation for exceptional service and hospitality.

Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 1 year customer service experience
- ServSafe Food Handler certification
- previous cash handling experience
- ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience
- experience in food, beverage, and/or retail environment
- preferred previous coffee house and/or hotel experience
- previous cash handling and face-to-face customer service experience
- ability to accurately input information into MICROS
- ability to remain calm and welcoming under stressful situations
- ability to work cohesively with team members across departments
- ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests in a fast-paced environment
- ServSafe Food Handler certification
- flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and stand for entire work shifts
Job Duties
- Communicate effectively with guests and associates
- listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by co-workers and guests
- remain professional in all situations
- work well under stressful, high-pressure situations
- maintain proper uniform and grooming standards
- ensure lobby public areas are maintained and clean by coordinating with housekeeping
- assist with monthly inventory
- maintain a clean workspace throughout the entire shift
- follow procedures for accepting credit cards and checks
- maintain a cash bank
- verify guest room numbers for room charges
- interact with other departments to satisfy guest needs
- adhere to proper food handling procedures
- operate equipment safely and correctly
