The position available is for a Barista under a PRN (as needed) work type, primarily during the day shift hours from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The role is based at Avera on Louise Health Campus and offers a competitive pay range from $17.50 to $21.50 per hour, commensurate with experience. As a Barista at Avera, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of hot and cold coffee beverages adhering to the standards set by Food and Nutrition Services. Beyond beverage creation, you will engage in some food preparation and cooking for the retail area, including assisting with catering services and the Doctor's Lounge. This diversified role requires versatility and a keen attention to quality, sanitation, and efficiency standards.

The position emphasizes excellent customer interaction through the utilization of developed scripts to ensure professional and friendly service. Accuracy in cash handling and the ability to reconcile change are crucial responsibilities, reflecting the importance of financial integrity in this role. You will also be expected to perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain the hygiene and presentation standards of the work area.

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of six months to one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with an associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred. Job Duties

  • Prepares hot and cold beverages to standards set by Food and Nutrition Services
  • Meets standards established by Food and Nutrition Services for food preparation, quality, sanitation, and efficiency
  • Delivers all products according to the schedule set for the specific item
  • Makes recommendations to Food and Nutrition Services for all menus
  • Completes daily assigned cleaning in accordance with approved standards
  • Responsible for delivering excellent customer service by utilizing the appropriate scripts developed for Food and Nutrition Services
  • Accurate cash handling and reconciliation of change due to customers
