The role of Barista at Neighbors, a part of Starwood Hotels' Food & Beverage team, is integral to creating unforgettable guest experiences through exceptional service and high-quality beverage preparation. As a Barista, you will be a key member of the Café service team, responsible for delivering thoughtfully crafted beverages that keep guests coming back. The role demands careful attention to detail and a genuine passion for the art of coffee making, as well as a commitment to upholding the Starwood brand values. Your duties will include welcoming guests with professional courtesy, accurately taking and preparing orders, ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the café area, and managing cash transactions efficiently. You will also participate in opening and closing duties, restocking supplies, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, health, and liquor laws.

Job Requirements
- minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a comparable position
- prior experience in a quality luxury hotel brand is an asset
- professional and appropriate business appearance and demeanor aligned with the brand
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- proficiency in verbal and written English communication
- ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- ability to carry trays of up to 25 pounds with one hand
- specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- ability to stand for more than 8 hours
- flexibility to work varying schedules including holidays and weekends
- ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, kneeling and crouching
- adherence to safety and security policies
- commitment to non-discrimination and inclusivity policies

Job Duties
- anticipate and understand guests' service needs and respond urgently to concerns
- greet, welcome and acknowledge all guests courteously
- work professionally and collaboratively with team members
- attend pre-shift meetings and complete opening and closing duties
- set up, stock and maintain café work areas and products
- take orders, prepare food, coffee, beverages and handle payments
- ensure compliance with liquor laws and deliver food and beverages timely
- maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of café areas
- perform shift cleaning, restocking and breakdown tasks
- uphold food product standards, portion control and safety
- follow all company safety and security procedures
