The Barista Lead role at Aramark is integral to delivering an exceptional customer experience. This position involves crafting memorable moments through timely service, quality beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming coffee bar environment. The Barista Lead is responsible not only for preparing and serving beverages and food items according to brand standards but also for training and mentoring Baristas. Leadership duties include guiding staff on coffee and food preparation, customer service, cash handling, and operational procedures. The Barista Lead may also take on scheduling responsibilities and coordinate team tasks to ensure smooth daily operations. Operating the register or POS system accurately, handling cash and credit transactions, and adhering to company cash handling policies are crucial aspects of the role.

Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area by setting up and breaking down the coffee bar, stocking items, and following health, safety, and sanitation guidelines are fundamental responsibilities. The position demands a balance of customer service excellence, attention to detail, and supervisory skills. This role is suitable for individuals with previous barista experience, cash handling knowledge, and basic math abilities. Supervisory experience is preferred but not mandatory, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision is essential. The Barista Lead must also comply with the company’s dress code, communicate effectively in English, and possess or obtain a Food Handling Certification.

The Barista Lead role includes physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. The use of uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to meet safety standards. Job Duties

  • Greet and assist customers while anticipating their needs
  • Prepare and serve coffees, teas, specialty beverages per brand standards
  • Prepare and serve food items in line with location standards
  • Train and guide staff members in coffee and food preparation, customer service, cash handling, product knowledge and other processes and procedures
  • May schedule and delegate work assignments to team and coordinate the completion of tasks for the location
  • Accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash and credit card transactions
  • Count, organize and balance cash drawer, fill out the cashier slip and make deposits
  • Adhere to Aramark's cash handling policies and procedures
  • Set up and breakdown coffee bar, stations or store including cleaning and sanitizing
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work area
  • Stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, service ware and condiments
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
