The role of a Barista at Verve Coffee Roasters is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about coffee and outstanding customer service. Reporting to the Café Manager, this non-exempt position requires dynamic, energetic team members who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Baristas at Verve play a critical role in creating memorable experiences by preparing high-quality beverages and engaging warmly with customers. The position allows flexibility with part-time or full-time hours based on availability, including weekends and holidays, reflecting the needs of the business. Baristas are expected to maintain a clean and welcoming environment, handle cash transactions responsibly, and contribute to team training efforts. The role emphasizes a passion for coffee, clear product knowledge, and a positive, respectful attitude. With ongoing coffee education classes and a supportive work environment, this position offers a platform for professional growth and development within a recognized coffee brand. Job Requirements

  • Must maintain current state-issued Food Handler Card
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Able to multi-task and deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, written and verbally
  • Inclusive, respectful and professional and the ability to work as part of a team
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • The hours can be part-time or full-time based on availability, available weekends and Holidays, hours can fluctuate due to the needs of the business

Job Qualifications

  • Retail and/or customer service experience is preferred
  • Coffee experience is a plus
  • Must maintain current state-issued Food Handler Card

Job Duties

  • Welcome and connect with every customer every time by being a brand ambassador with positivity and enthusiasm
  • Consistently provide quality beverages and food
  • Have a clear knowledge on all inventory items and accurately communicate product information to customers by responding to questions, orders, and concerns
  • Maintain a clean environment including the cleaning of the back of house, bar areas, and patios to contribute to a healthy environment for customers and employees
  • Contribute to store profitability by following Verve’s cash handling and cash register protocols
  • Participate in the training and development of new employees
  • Work at different stations in the cafĂ© as needed and assigned
  • Assist in keeping the Cafe clean
  • Follow all Verve policies, procedures, and processes
  • Have a passion for coffee!
