The role of a Barista at Verve Coffee Roasters is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about coffee and outstanding customer service. Reporting to the Café Manager, this non-exempt position requires dynamic, energetic team members who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Baristas at Verve play a critical role in creating memorable experiences by preparing high-quality beverages and engaging warmly with customers. The position allows flexibility with part-time or full-time hours based on availability, including weekends and holidays, reflecting the needs of the business. Baristas are expected to maintain a clean and welcoming environment, handle cash transactions responsibly, and contribute to team training efforts. The role emphasizes a passion for coffee, clear product knowledge, and a positive, respectful attitude. Job Requirements

Must maintain current state-issued Food Handler Card
Must be 18 years or older
Able to multi-task and deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively with others, written and verbally
Inclusive, respectful and professional and the ability to work as part of a team
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
The hours can be part-time or full-time based on availability, available weekends and Holidays, hours can fluctuate due to the needs of the business

Job Qualifications

Retail and/or customer service experience is preferred
Coffee experience is a plus

Job Duties

Welcome and connect with every customer every time by being a brand ambassador with positivity and enthusiasm
Consistently provide quality beverages and food
Have a clear knowledge on all inventory items and accurately communicate product information to customers by responding to questions, orders, and concerns
Maintain a clean environment including the cleaning of the back of house, bar areas, and patios to contribute to a healthy environment for customers and employees
Contribute to store profitability by following Verve’s cash handling and cash register protocols
Participate in the training and development of new employees
Work at different stations in the café as needed and assigned
Assist in keeping the Cafe clean
Follow all Verve policies, procedures, and processes
