The Barista Lead role at Aramark is a pivotal position focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience through timely and professional service, high-quality beverages and food products, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role involves not only preparing and serving coffees, teas, and specialty beverages according to brand standards but also ensuring the adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines. A Barista Lead is responsible for training new and existing baristas, guiding staff in customer service excellence, cash handling, product knowledge, and operational procedures. Additionally, this position may include scheduling and delegating tasks to team members to ensure efficient store operation and customer satisfaction.

From greeting customers with warmth and anticipating their needs to managing cash transactions accurately and overseeing the cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area, the Barista Lead plays a critical role in maintaining high service standards. This role requires a mix of leadership, attention to detail, and hands-on participation in all aspects of the coffee bar's daily operations. Working independently with limited supervision, the Barista Lead must be capable of delivering consistent quality while fostering a collaborative team environment. Employees in this role are expected to comply with Aramark’s policies, including cash handling protocols and food safety certifications. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a successful barista required
  • requires previous cash handling experience
  • requires basic math and counting skills
  • able to read and communicate in English and able to follow recipes
  • complete Food Handling Certification as required
  • must follow required dress code as assigned
  • may require physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • may require usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a successful barista required

  • experience in a supervisory or related role preferred
  • must be able to work independently with limited supervision
  • must follow required dress code as assigned
  • able to read and communicate in English and able to follow recipes
  • complete Food Handling Certification as required

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist customers while anticipating their needs
  • prepare and serve coffees, teas, specialty beverages per brand standards
  • prepare and serve food items in line with location standards
  • train and guide staff members in coffee and food preparation, customer service, cash handling, product knowledge and other processes and procedures
  • may schedule and delegate work assignments to team and coordinate the completion of tasks for the location
  • accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash and credit card transactions
  • count, organize and balance cash drawer, fill out the cashier slip and make deposits
  • adhere to Aramark's cash handling policies and procedures
  • set up and breakdown coffee bar, stations or store including cleaning and sanitizing
  • maintain clean and sanitary work area
  • stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, service ware and condiments
  • follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
