The Barista Lead position at Aramark is a pivotal role responsible for creating lasting impressions on customers by delivering timely, friendly service combined with high-quality beverages and food items. As a Barista Lead, you will not only prepare and serve coffees, teas, and specialty beverages following strict brand standards and recipes but also train and guide fellow baristas in service excellence, cash handling, and product knowledge. You will be responsible for operating the register or POS system accurately, managing cash transactions, organizing and balancing cash drawers, and adhering to company cash handling policies. In addition, you may be tasked with scheduling and delegating daily work assignments to the team, coordinating task completion to ensure smooth operation of the location.

Maintaining the coffee bar includes setting up and breaking down stations, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, restocking beverage coolers, grab-and-go items, service ware, and condiments. All activities follow strict health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to guarantee the highest standards of customer service and food safety compliance.

This role demands a proactive leader who is capable of working independently with limited supervision and who can foster a team environment through training and mentorship. Physical requirements may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Personal protective equipment and uniforms are used as necessary for safety and compliance.

Job Duties

  • greet and assist customers while anticipating their needs
  • prepare and serve coffees, teas, specialty beverages per brand standards
  • prepare and serve food items in line with location standards
  • train and guide staff members in coffee and food preparation, customer service, cash handling, product knowledge and other processes and procedures
  • may schedule and delegate work assignments to team and coordinate the completion of tasks for the location
  • accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash and credit card transactions
  • count, organize and balance cash drawer, fill out the cashier slip and make deposits
  • adhere to Aramark's cash handling policies and procedures
