The Barista II role at Sodexo, based at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, offers full-time employment with a pay range of $12.50 to $14.00 per hour. This position involves varying shifts with open availability preferred, providing flexibility that aligns with life’s important moments. As a Barista II, you will be the face of Sodexo’s coffee service, crafting high-quality, hand-made beverages such as espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, and fruit blends. Beyond preparing beverages, you will handle customer interactions with warmth and professionalism, operate cash registers, and ensure your workspace is spotless. Working as a Barista II means being a dedicated team player who maintains a safe and healthy working environment. It’s a dynamic role where you will perform various duties depending on the client and location, from cleaning coffee machines and restrooms to recording sales and managing electronic payments. Previous experience in customer service, food preparation, sanitation, and inventory control will be advantageous. Some locations may require Starbucks Barista certification, underscoring the importance of quality beverage preparation.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous related experience in customer service or food service preferred
  • Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Open availability preferred
  • Ability to operate cash registers and handle electronic payments
  • Capable of maintaining cleanliness in work and preparation areas

Job Qualifications

  • Team-oriented and adaptable
  • Reliable and committed to maintaining a healthy and safe working environment
  • Previous experience in customer service, food preparation, sanitation and inventory control preferred
  • Starbucks Barista certification may be required at some locations

Job Duties

  • Greet customers, take orders, mix and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks
  • Record all sales, collect cash/credit card/electronic payments and operate a cash register
  • Clean coffee machines, restaurant areas, restrooms and preparation areas
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned, differing among accounts based on business necessities and client requirements
