The Barista II position is full-time and located within the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics setting, where the role involves dynamic and varying shifts with open availability preferred. This role is critical to providing a warm, welcoming environment for customers by delivering expertly crafted beverages and exceptional customer service. As a Barista II, you will be responsible for creating handcrafted coffee and specialty drinks such as espresso, cappuccinos, café lattes, teas, and fruit blend drinks, adhering to fair-trade principles and quality standards. Beyond beverage preparation, the position requires managing cash registers, processing sales transactions, and maintaining pristine cleanliness across work areas including coffee machines, preparation spaces, restrooms, and dining areas. Job Requirements
- Ability to work a full-time schedule with varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Reliable and punctual with strong attendance
- Basic math skills for handling cash and operating a cash register
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Customer service orientation and a friendly demeanor
- Willingness to comply with food service safety and sanitation regulations
- Previous related experience is preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in customer service, food preparation, sanitation, and inventory control preferred
- Starbucks Barista certification may be required at some locations
- Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Team-oriented and adaptable
Job Duties
- Greet customers, take orders, mix and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks
- Record all sales, collect cash/credit card/electronic payments and operate a cash register
- Clean coffee machines, restaurant areas, restrooms and preparation areas
- Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business necessities and client requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Provide excellent customer service and promote fair-trade product awareness
