The Barista I (Academic) position within the Arizona Student Unions is a full-time role essential to delivering excellent customer service and quality food and beverage preparation. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to occasionally transport or move a maximum of 50 pounds
  • Availability to work a full 40-hour week
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Ability to operate point of sale systems

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency
  • Ability to effectively communicate and provide excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of sanitation and quality food service standards
  • Knowledge of weights and measures
  • Previous experience in a customer service or food service role preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome customers while providing exceptional customer service
  • Take orders, including offering menu recommendations and noting dietary restrictions or special requests
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages and food items according to standardized recipes or as customized for customers
  • Maintain food safety standards
  • Receive and process payments accurately using point of sale systems
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, ensuring all stations, equipment, and storage areas are properly secured and stocked
  • Restock supplies such as cups, lids, coffee beans, syrups, and food items
