As part of Sodexo's dynamic team at Chapman University, the Barista I role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and hand-crafted quality beverages. This position welcomes both full-time and part-time candidates who have open availability, as shifts can vary. The pay range is competitive, offering $20 to $21 per hour, reflecting the value Sodexo places on skilled and dedicated team members.

The Barista I position is essential in creating memorable guest experiences by greeting customers warmly and preparing a variety of beverages including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, and fruit blend drinks, tailored to each customer’s preferences. Beyond beverage preparation, baristas will be responsible for maintaining customer relations, suggestive selling, managing supplies, and ensuring cleanliness and order in their work area. The role requires physical stamina as it involves standing or walking for extended periods, often more than eight hours per shift, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly, with occasional heavier lifting.

Baristas will operate cash registers, handle money securely, and adhere to Sodexo’s cash handling policies. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a friendly demeanor are critical to success.
