Job Description
SodexoMagic, a renowned joint venture partnership between NBA Hall of Famer Earvin "Magic" Johnson and SodexoMagic, is a certified minority-owned company specializing in delivering exceptional food, facilities management, and integrated services across various sectors. These sectors include corporations, healthcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges and universities, and aviation lounges. With a strong commitment to community engagement and client satisfaction, SodexoMagic stands out as a leader in providing creative, tailored solutions through strategic alliances with local partners in the diverse communities they serve. The company values diversity, inclusion, and belonging, fostering an environment where every employee is respected, their ideas are valued, and they can thrive both personally and professionally. SodexoMagic promotes equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, or other protected characteristics under federal, state, or local law.
The role of Barista I at SodexoMagic, located in Lawrence Township at Bristol Myers Squibb, is a full-time position offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.50 to $18.50. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering high-quality beverages and exceptional customer service in a dynamic and supportive work environment. As a Barista I, you will be the face of SodexoMagic to guests, greeting them warmly and providing quick, friendly, and personalized service. Your workday will involve preparing a variety of hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, and chai, along with fruit blend drinks, all tailored to meet customer specifications.
Maintaining good customer relations and ensuring speedy delivery of all beverages and food items are essential aspects of the role. You will educate guests about menu offerings and use suggestive selling techniques to enhance their experience. Additionally, you will be responsible for arranging coffee bar or cart supplies and cups in attractive displays and maintaining cleanliness in coffee machines, preparation areas, and restaurant sections. Handling sales, collecting money, operating cash registers, and following proper cash-handling protocols are critical tasks, demanding attention to detail and integrity.
The role involves significant mobility, requiring the ability to walk or stand for extended periods — sometimes exceeding eight hours — and the capability to reach, bend, stoop, push or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds, with occasional lifts of up to 50 pounds. Reliability and punctuality are important, as attending work on schedule is expected. Flexibility in workdays and shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings on varying days, makes this position ideal for those seeking adaptable work hours.
