Located in Lawrence Township at the Bristol Myers Squibb facility, SodexoMagic is currently seeking a full-time Barista I to join their dynamic team. The position involves working mornings and afternoon or evening shifts, with specific schedules to be discussed during the interview. The hourly pay ranges from $16.50 to $18.50, reflecting the company's commitment to competitive compensation. As a Barista I, individuals will play a crucial role in creating high-quality, hand-crafted beverages such as espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, teas, and specialty fruit blended drinks while delivering exceptional customer service.
This role is much more than just preparing coffee; it is about curating a welcoming and personalized experience for each guest. The barista will greet customers warmly, take precise orders, suggest menu offerings, and ensure timely delivery of beverages. Maintaining cleanliness and organizing display areas to enhance the customer’s experience are also vital to the role. Physical stamina is important, as the job requires standing or walking for long periods and the ability to lift and move weighty supplies when necessary.
Candidates with a high school diploma or GED and experience in customer service are highly preferred. Knowledge of food preparation standards, sanitation, and inventory control is essential, and certification such as Starbucks Barista Certification may be required for some assignments. Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- customer service related work experience
- knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, standards, and inventory control systems
- Starbucks Baristas may be required to be certified
- availability to work mornings and afternoon/evening shifts
- ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- punctuality and regular attendance

Job Duties
- Greets all guests and provides quick, friendly, and personalized service
- mixes and serves hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, cafe latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks, etc., while considering customer specifications
- works to maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of all beverages and food items
- educates guests regarding menu offerings and initiates suggestive selling
- arranges coffee bar/cart supplies and cups/mugs to make attractive displays
- often cleans coffee machines, restaurant areas, and preparation areas
- records all sales, collects money, operates a cash register, and follows all cash-handling procedures as required
- significant walking or other means of mobility
- ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours
- ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
- attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements
