The Barista I role at Sodexo, located at SSM St. Anthony Hospital, is a part-time position offering an hourly pay range of $15.00 to $17.40. This role is vital in providing an exceptional customer service experience, engaging directly with guests by preparing and serving high-quality, hand-crafted beverages. The work schedule primarily involves weekends with varying shifts, and additional details are provided during the interview process.
As a Barista I, your daily responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, preparing a variety of hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, and fruit blends tailored to customer preferences. The position demands maintaining excellent customer relations and ensuring the speedy delivery of beverage and food items. You will play a key role in educating guests about menu offerings and promoting suggestive selling to enhance their experience. The baristas also maintain an attractive and functional coffee bar or cart, ensuring supplies and display elements are well-stocked and inviting.
Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of coffee machines, preparation areas, and customer spaces is essential to this role, contributing to a safe and pleasant environment. The role also involves operating cash registers, handling monetary transactions accurately, and following all cash-handling procedures to ensure accountability.
Physical demands of the position include significant walking or mobility, the ability to stand or walk for extended periods which can exceed eight hours per shift, and the capability to reach, bend, stoop, push, or pull, frequently lifting up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Punctuality and reliable attendance are crucial to the smooth operation of the team and customer satisfaction. Due to differences in client needs and business necessities, some duties may vary among accounts.
