The Food Service Worker position at Aramark is vital to maintaining the high standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction that the company upholds. This role primarily involves assisting the manager with food and meal preparation while ensuring all tasks related to cash receipts, meal records, and daily reporting are handled accurately and efficiently. The Food Service Worker is responsible for producing a variety of quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu, adhering strictly to sanitation and kitchen safety standards, and actively participating in kitchen maintenance and equipment care. Through these duties, the Food Service Worker contributes directly to the smooth operation of food service facilities and enhances the dining experience of customers.

The responsibilities of this role include preparing food items and beverages timely and according to established standards, adding garnishments to enhance the appearance and appeal of meals, and supervising food temperature requirements to ensure freshness and safety. The worker must handle storage of food items in a sanitary and organized way, follow strict food safety regulations, and maintain cleanliness in all areas including refrigerators, freezers, counters, and floors. Physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, and standing for extended periods are required, as well as adherence to uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols. Daily communication with the manager ensures menus are prepared correctly and aligned with customer expectations.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • use uniforms and/or personal protective equipment as required
