St. Luke's mission revolves around excellence in caring for the sick and injured, educating healthcare professionals such as physicians and nurses, and improving access to care in the communities served. The organization is dedicated to serving all patients regardless of their ability to pay for healthcare services. This dedication makes St. Luke's a leading name in the healthcare sector, emphasizing quality and compassionate service in every aspect of its operations.

The Barista role at St. Luke's plays a vital part in enhancing the overall experience for patients, visitors, and staff by preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold specialty drinks following established procedures and recipes. The position requires working every other weekend and holidays, indicating a flexible scheduling environment that supports round-the-clock service needs. This role is not only about beverage preparation but also involves maintaining high standards of food quality and temperature, handling food service sanitation, operating point-of-sale systems, and adhering to cash handling policies.

Baristas at St. Luke's are expected to prepare, serve, and display menu items in ways that maximize appeal while complying with dietary restrictions, ensuring menus remain updated and communicated properly, and supporting inventory management by stocking assigned areas. The position demands strong attention to sanitation and cleaning duties, including equipment maintenance and waste management. Confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies regarding patient information, employee safety, and service excellence standards are crucial aspects of the role, underscoring the importance of integrity and professionalism.

Physical requirements for the job include the ability to walk, sit, stand, handle, lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing between 1 to 50 pounds, occasionally involving bending, stooping, climbing, or reaching above shoulder level. The role requires good hearing and vision capabilities to perform the associated tasks effectively.

Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent are preferred, and while prior customer service or food service experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory as on-the-job training is provided. St. Luke's encourages applicants to provide detailed work history and credentials and supports an inclusive employment environment, promoting equal opportunity for all candidates.
